I’ve received the digital version of the photos from my film camera, the one I always bring with me when I travel, because somehow, the way it captures moments feels so close to the way I remember them in my head.
These pictures bring me right back to this endlessly charming city I had the chance to visit in May. I think I managed to capture a little bit of Copenhagen’s liveliness, that effervescence that left such a strong impression on me. All her beautiful colors, people, and spirit.
I hope this little digital album makes you fall in love with her, even just a little, and gives you a glimpse of my summer crush through my eyes.
Maybe my favorite one — a local guy on his bike. Wondering where he’s going and what he’s listening to.
The party spot in the Meatpacking District. I stood there for a while, watching this family dance and have the time of their lives with their mom and grandma. It made me smile so much. There was something truly beautiful about this moment, and the music was really good too.
The colors and light of the houses, the bikes and strollers left unlocked outside, like it was the most normal thing in the world — there was something about this lively, lovely neighborhood that really spoke to me.
People gathering to watch the sunset in the beautiful Kongens Have.
The tiramisu I shared with the lady sitting next to me, who I ended up talking to all through dinner. She was a retired ecology teacher from Stockholm, and there was something about her feminist spirit that really touched me. One of those lovely unexpected encounters.
A cool and popular spot, and for good reason.
Bike rides and ice cream, my love language.
A normal weeknight in CPHG, people going out and having fun no matter what day of the week it is.
A BMO from Hart, my journal, and a filter coffee before heading out to walk around the city.
